[HOLIKA HOLIKA] Aqua Petit Jelly BB Cream: Review

9:41:00 PM Mei B 2 Comments

Long time no see sweeties!

Those last few weeks were really tiring (physically and emotionally), but it's all done now since I'M FINALLY FREE! No work, no studies, no exams, no stress! NOTHING AT ALL! Just holidays and rest, rest, rest, and rest again. Heaven innit?

Another thing that irritated me even more is, the Moroccan post decided to change some of its policies and ended up holding all the packages for a week or two and I started freaking out. Once my orders arrived to my city, I went happily to get them from the post office like I always do BUT, they decided to send it from a post office to another instead, to deliver it at home later, thinking that they are improving their services this way... Just do your job the way you always do please, we aren't complaining and no need to improve anything.
End of rant :)

Ah by the way, I changed my blog's design (obviously), what do you think about it? Which one do you like better? Let me know in the comments bellow :D

Now, lemme review this lovely BB cream. I've been planning to purchase for a pretty long time now and I finally did it (I have almost 10 BB creams now.. I'll open a bb cream store soon in this rate).

Description and claims:
Jelly BB makes moist and bounce jelly skin. Has jelly texture that helps spread evenly and creates fully hydrated and shiny skin. It is also perfect for covering up facial blemishes
Mint water hydrates facial skin,  and marine jelly complex makes soft and bouncy skin.

Volume: 40 ml

Ingredients:
Water, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Dimethicone, Sorbitan Isostearate, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract, Codium Tomentosum Extract, Enteromorpha Compressa Extract, Macrocystis Pyrifera Extract, Ecklonia Cava Extract, Gelidium Cartilagineum Extract, Laminaria Japonica Extract, Mentha Arvensis Leaf Extract, Mentha Rotundifolia Leaf Extract, Imperata Cylindrica Root Extract, Caviar Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Triethanolamine, Stearic Acid, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Aluminum Hydroxide, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Isohexadecane, Polysorbate 80, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Butylene Glycol, Hydroxyapatite, Agar, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Glycerin, PEG-8, Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Atelocollagen, Carbomer, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Chlorphenesin, Propylparaben, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Fragrance(Parfum), Iron Oxides (CI 77492), Iron Oxides (CI 77491), Iron Oxides (CI 77499)

How to use:
Take an appropriate amount with spatula and spread it on face evenly. Gently pat with puffs (enclosed inside the box)

Packaging:

This bb cream comes in a glass jar with a spatula, that may be considered a bit unhygienic since you have to put it back in the jar after using it (and toward the end, I'm pretty sure I'll have to use my fingers to get the remaining products that the spatula won't reach).
It also comes with a makeup sponge that I might use on my nails for a gradient nail art. I prefer using my fingers to blend bb cream instead anyways, so why wasting the sponge? :3

The scent:
This bb cream has a fresh scent that fades after few minutes.

The performance:
This bb cream has a jelly consistency (I even spent few minutes bouncing it and giggling like a 3 years old kid), and once in contact with the skin (body heat) it becomes watery.
No wonder many people love this bb cream. It is light, buildable, non sticky and non greasy. The perfect consistency for summer and all that sweat and sebum secretions... the only thing that doesn't really fit with summer is its low SPF (only SPF20 PA++) But it's not really a problem since I use a sunscreen anyways.

Some beauty bloggers said that it turns into an orange-ish color after a while, so I was afraid it would be true (and that's what kept me from buying it this whole time before deciding to finally try it myself), but fortunately it didn't, I even think that its color (Aqua Beige) is just perfect for me.

The packaging states that it makes your face shiny but it doesn't. Actually it has a semi-matte finish, and it also has some oil control properties and prevents your face from reflecting your colleagues' faces on it after few our. Here is the oil test I did, and surprisingly, it didn't product any oil even after 6 hours (I only took images during the first hour... I forgot to do so later so yeah..)
Here is a comparison with some other bb creams.
After all of this awesomeness, I can absolutely say that this bb cream may be considered as my HG summer bb cream. I can't judge how great it would be in winter and fall since my skin becomes super dry, nor in spring since my skin becomes super sensitive. I'll make sure to tell you later.

Summary
Pros:
- Affordable price.
- Lovely packaging.
- The color suits my skin tone perfectly.
- Fresh scent.
- Light formula.
- Non sticky.
- Non greasy.
- great oil control.
- Semi matte finish.
- Buildable coverage without looking cakey.

Cons:
- Low SPF
- Will have to use your fingers to get the product out of the jar later.
- Only two shades which would be inconvenient for people with deeper skintones.

Would I repurchase it?
Absolutely! I even regret not buying it earlier...

Where can you buy it?
