[TONYMOLY] I'm Real Tea Tree Mask Sheet: Review

4:46:00 PM Mei B 6 Comments

That moment when you haven't gone out for a week or so, and the day you decide to hang out with your friends, you are surprised by a huge pimple in the middle of your cheek, crying for attention...

Believe me it looks more horrible in real life... all swollen and red, and most importantly it hurts so bad.

That day, I woke up at 3pm (early birds catch the worms they say... late ones get awful pimples I may add), so I couldn't do much about it since I had only few ours left before meeting my friends, so all I could do is hide it with a bit of concealer, but still it looked as if I got an extra cheek.

Later that night, I ended up picking up on that pimple (a bad old habit), making it obviously worse than before, infected and all... you can judge yourself:

Gross innit?

That's when I remembered that I had a Tonymoly I'm real tea tree mask sheet that I haven't tried yet, and that's what I'm gonna review today.

Description and claims:
Skin soothing, gets rid of uneven skin tone.

Volume: 21ml (1 Sheet)

Ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Glycereth-26, Panthenol, Bis-Ethoxydiglycol Succinate, Allantoin, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Chlorphenesin, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Tromethamine, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Propanediol,  Hydroxy Ethylcellulose, Musa Sapientum (Banana) Fruit Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Illicium Verim (Anise) Fruit Extract, Disodium EDTA, Melaleuca Alternifolia  (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil.

How to use:
Tear open and aply to face, leave on for 20-30 minutes and then remove.

Packaging:

The scent:
Slight Tea scent, nothing too overwhelming.

The texture:
The sheet is pretty is pretty thin, and soaked in a lot of product that it started dripping, and the packaging itself was full of extra essence, and since I felt bad just throwing it away, I used it on another dry sheet mask and gave it to my brother (which lasted for about 15min, not bad really)

The performance:

The mask sheet fits pretty well, and as I mentioned above, it kept dripping a bit, so I had the essence all over my neck, ears and pillow... I made a mental note to squeeze it next time a little bit, maybe then the 2nd sheet would take more time to dry and I'll have less wasted product.
They said to leave it for 30min, but I left it for a longer time, and only removed it after watching the whole VMAs red carpet pre-show... so I guess I left it more than 2 hours, and even then it still haven't fully dried.
There was nothing special about this mask to be honest, except that I felt my skin heating up after about 5min, which I don't really know if it's normal or not since I've never used a tea tree sheet mask before.
After taking it off, my skin felt sticky, so I decided to let it absorb the essence while I watched the VMAs performances, and fell asleep right away... I forgot to check yeah...
In the morning, my skin was a little bit glowing, and my pimple was smaller less swollen and less sore, which is pretty good, but I had new mini pimples... I don't know if I got them because of it or later that night, because of my period... nothing horrible so I don't really care.

Summary
Pros:
- Fits well
- Drenched in a lot of product  (enough to make another sheet mask :3 )
- thin
- nice scent
- my pimple is slightly less awful after using it.

Cons:
- the results weren't as good as hey claimed
- It made my skin kinda hot and sliiiightly red when I was using it.
- no plastic layer on the mask, which means more difficulty to unwrap it.
- sticky residue, but that's normal I guess..

Would I repurchase it?
I'll probably try more tea tree sheet masks from other brands first.

Where can you buy it?
