NATURE REPUBLIC Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera Foam Cleanser Review

Being a huge fan of Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing gel (I reviewed it here), only meant that I would be tempted to try more Nature Republic Aloe Vera products. So when I ran out of cleansers, I didn't think twice before purchasing their foam cleanser (they have a gel cleanser as well, but I'll always prefer a creamy foam cleanser over a gel one).

Description and claims:

The foam cleanser removes impurities from your skin with its creamy foam, which contains aloe vera extract.

Volume: 150 ml

Ingredients:

WATER, GLYCERIN, STEARIC ACID, MYRISTIC ACID, PEG-32, POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE, LAURIC ACID, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, GLYCERYL, STEARATE, PEG-100 STEARATE, SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE, PEG-75, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF BENZOATE, YELLOW 5 (CI 1940), METHYLCHLOROISOTHIAZOLIDINE, BLUE 1 (CI 42090), METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE.

so as you can see here, this product contains so many unsafe ingredients... I didn't know it before purchasing it since I couldn't find the ingredient list anywhere.

How to use:
Take a proper amount on the palm, wet with water, rub sufficiently to make lather and apply all over the face, and then rinse off with warm water. Use AM and PM.

Packaging:

The cleanser comes in a white plastic tube (it's kinda similar to Innisfree cleanser that I reviewed here), with a green plastic cap and the same aloe vera pic that you can find on every product of this line.

Scent and texture:

It smells like a cleanser I usually make myself ( yeah I usually use my own homemade cleanser, unless I'm too busy/lazy to DIY it) but it's vaguely close to the gel's one
As for the texture, the cleanser is a thick creamy paste, that becomes quite bubbly if you use it with a loofah or cleansing brush.

NATURE REPUBLIC Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera Foam Cleanser Review

The performance:

After reading the ingredients list, I was reluctant to try it, since my skin can be reaaaally sensitive sometimes. But I was surprised that it didn't irritate my skin at all (it might be because the cleanser doesn't stay on my skin long enough to be irritating). it was even quite calming if I might say. But make sure to avoid contact with eyes because it stings badly.

This cleanser does actually wash of the impurities as claimed, without making your skin feel unnecessarily too tight. ( it isn't as moisturizing as innisfree's tea tree foam cleanser, nor as stripping as COSRX salycilic acid cleanser (reviewed here))

It doesn't claim to remove makeup, but it doesn't mean that I shouldn't try it :3 and the results are: it does a decent job removing sunscreen, some foundations and bb creams, some regular lipsticks, but does't really remove waterproof makeup and lip tints.

Summary

Pros:

- I think it's the cheapest cleanser I have ever tried.
- Cleanses w/out stripping the skin from its moisture.
- Hygienic tube.
- nice scent
- Somehow moisturizes and calms the skin (I don't know if it's just me or it's actually true)

Cons:

- Many unsafe ingredients. so make sure you aren't sensitive to any of them before trying it

Would I repurchase it?

I don't know. I will probably try other cleansers as well.

Where can you buy it?

3/5

  2. Well, not being too stripping it's a good thing for a cleanser, the Cosrx Salycilic acid cleanser ph was too high. I don't ask to remove makeup too, that job is for the first cleanser :D

    Glad to read you again

  3. Usually aloe vera products should be as natural as possible, as this plant is a miracle maker. Shame that they added so many harmful chemicals to it.

    1. I was really shocked after reading the product list. Aloe vera is an amazing ingredient by itself I dunno why they had to ruin it by adding so many hurtful chemicals

  11. I don't think we have that brand here but I'm a fan of aloe vera as a beauty product. And you're right, we should always be checking the full ingredients list for nasty stuff. Some of them are downright scary!

  13. Aloe Vera is really a great plant.. it can be used in many different ways ... they can be used medically as they help wounds to heal quickly and they are also effective to make your hair a lot stronger and thicker... they can even be used to cure some digestive problems... and yes, much like this product, they can be a natural moisturizer too!

  16. It's so hard to find a cleanser or other beauty product with chemicals, but I guess it goes back to each individual skin condition. We know what our skin needs. I like your review, honest.
