ETUDE HOUSE Precious Mineral Perfect Fit BB Cream Review

During the last few years, my bb cream collection kept on growing up (both full size bb creams and sample bb creams), but I've only reviewed few of them even though they are the makeup product I use the most, that's why I decided to start a new "What BB Cream is the Right One For You?" series, on both this blog and my IG, and end it with an "The Ultimate Guide to Korean BB Creams" comparing all of them. Please keep an eye on it and let me know in the comments bellow If you like the idea or not.

So today, I'm gonna review the last full size bb cream (that I haven't used up yet) in my current collection, and it's Etude House Precious Mineral Perfect Fit BB Cream.

ETUDE HOUSE Precious Mineral Perfect Fit BB Cream Review

Just like the other Etude House Precious Mineral BB Creams, this bb cream comes in a simple yet elegant pump tube, which keeps it hygienic and easy to use.

The scent:

Just like many other korean bb creams, this one vaguely smells like flowers.

The performance:

ETUDE HOUSE Precious Mineral Perfect Fit BB Cream Review swatches before after

This bb cream does a nice job evening out your skin tone, and covering minor discolorations. However, it doesn't cover the dark spots and major redness like it claims (you can still see my veins in the picture), but it's alright since I'm not really looking for coverage in bb creams.
I purchased the N02 shade which is the lighter one in this line (don't mind the top picture, I don't know why my hand looks yellow), and it suits my skin tone perfectly, although I tend to mix it with a little bit of the W13 shade during the summer time, so that I won't look like a ghost beside all these nicely tanned people.
This is great, so why am I not using it as my everyday bb cream? well the answer is: The reason I prefer bb creams over foundations is their natural light finish. And unlike some other bb creams I'm using  (Klairs bb cream, reviewed here, and Holika Holika petit jelly, reviewed here), this bb cream has a heavy (hella patchy) finish no matter how little amount I apply, and stays quite sticky. Other things that are really with this bb cream is: it looks quite dry and sparkly, sits heavily on my skin's super mega fine lines and almost unnoticeable pores to make them really obvious, and most of all accentuates my dry patches I didn't even know existed...

Another annoying thing about this bb cream is: It neither does moisturize the skin nor has oil control properties. Although in the oil test bellow you can see that it produces quite a lot of oil by itself, but it feels like this oil stay on top of your makeup and gives off that weird super shiny look at the end of the day, instead of providing a little bit of moisture for the skin.. Does this even make sense? no? okay at least I tried...

Summary

Pros:

- The N02 shade suits my skin perfectly
- Pleasant scent
- Lovely packaging (it's etude house, so what can I expect)
- Affordable price
- Its SPF 30, PA++ Can be enough by itself during winter/autumn/spring

Cons:

- Heavy sticky finish, no matter how little you apply
- Quite sparkly, which is weird. BB creams are either glowy/dewy, matte or semi matte. this is the first bb cream I try that looks chalky/sparkly.
- Accentuates dry patches and pores
- It's not really hydrating, nor oil controlling. which is also weird.

Would I repurchase it?

I don't think so...

2/5

  2. This sounded like a pretty disappointing one. I know I'd be upset if it was accentuating my dry patches.

  6. I don't really use BB creams so I am not much familiar with this. I think the downside would really be the sticky finish, I hate that feeling especially on my moisturizers.

  7. I am not very familiar with BB creams! I typically don't wear much make up! I don't know if I would even check this out cause I definitely wouldn't like the sticky feeling.

    1. I rarely wear makeup, and when I do, it would be only a bb cream and a light liptint.

  8. I like Etude House but never tried their BB cream. Maybe dabbing your face with some rice paper may help with grease? I prefer Dr. Jart.
